On Friday, March 23, 2012, we had a pleasure to attend a second part of the seminar on the subject of psychoactive mushrooms and plants.  As the first part, the seminar was a great success.  The information presented by Prof. Jordan Zjawiony was very interesting and presented with humor and many anecdotes - we all had a great time learning about the psychoactive plants of the Americal.  Please see the pictures from the seminar.  Prof. Zjawiony graciously agreed to publish the presentation on our website for those who missed the seminar - click here to view it. (4 MB pdf file.)  See Prof. Zjawiony's web page at Ole Miss.
Thanks to the active role of our organization and the activities of our School of Polish Language and Culture we received the attention of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington.  The Embassy showed interest in our Memphis community and contributed financially to our school. Polish Ambassador Rober Kupiecki invited PAS and Polish School representatives to attend a reception at the Embassy on January 27.  Our representatives who attended the reception had an opportunity to say farewell to old Consuls and meet the new ones.  We have great hopes for future cooperation - Consul Piotr Konowrocki already accepted our invitation to visit Memphis this year.  You can see pictures from the reception here.
