This year two members of the Polish blues group Kajetan Drozd Acoustic Trio, Kajetan Drozd and Piotr Rozankowski, will participate again in the International Blues Challenge. The dates for the 2012 International Blues Challenge (IBC) will be January 31 - February 4, 2012. The competition will be held in Memphis, TN in the Beale Street entertainment district. The disc will be available to purchase at the Blues Challenge store.
During their stay in our city the artists graciously agreed to perform for free for the Polish community in Memphis. Please mark your calendars to attend the concert on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at 4 pm, at the Country Hills Clubhouse, 1610 Oaken Bucket, Cordova, TN 38016.
More information about the group is available on their website. Also, you can listen to some of their performances on YouTube here and here. We also encourage you to come to the clubs and cheer for the Polish group when they perform for the challenge. We will publish their schedule once it's available.
Thanks to the active role of our organization and the activities of our School of Polish Language and Culture we received the attention of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Washington.  The Embassy showed interest in our Memphis community and contributed financially to our school. Polish Ambassador Rober Kupiecki invited PAS and Polish School representatives to attend a reception at the Embassy on January 27.  Our representatives who attended the reception had an opportunity to say farewell to old Consuls and meet the new ones.  We have great hopes for future cooperation - Consul Piotr Konowrocki already accepted our invitation to visit Memphis this year.  You can see pictures from the reception here.

The next meeting of the PAS Bridge Club will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 6 p.m. All interested in participating please contact Ania or Mirek Wozniak at 385-2881, email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
